My mother went to a conference in Phoenix and kindly let me tag along. While she was at the conference, I went on small trips in the area. After the conference, bigger trips with the car were planed: the botanical garden, the Apache Trail, and, crazily enough, a "detour" to the Grand Canyon. Unexpectedly - and not particularly happy about it - we also added a visit to Boston and its zoo. The pretty Icelandic volcano spewed a little ash, and so we got stranded in Boston - sounds great? Boston is on the other coast: summer clothing for Phoenix was packed, a sweater or jacket was definitely not part of the equipment...
