When I was looking for appliqué ideas for the bee jacket, I came across many other animal appliqués. That was the inspiration for this jacket: a flower meadow with spiders, ladybugs and butterflies. For the appearance of the butterflies, I used our native butterflies as a reference. The jacket is adorned with an Apollo butterfly, an Aurora butterfly, a Lemon butterfly, a Mourning cloak butterfly, a Duke of Burgundy butterfly, a Common blue butterfly, and a Small blue butterfly (at least I think that are their English names). Personally, I think I did the best job on the Aurora butterfly and the Mourning cloak butterfly.
